Spyder World Cup Race Suit System
The real deal race suit system that scored tremendous success last season on the World Cup and at the Winter Olympics.
wind tunnel testing showed Spyder that there is significant wind resistance created by the traditional padding that is stitched into most GS suits. This doesn't show up at the slower speeds of slalom, but definitely becomes a factor for upper level athletes at the higher speeds of giant slalom and super G.
Spyder's solution is to use an aerodynamic, unpadded, high tech suit for downhill and add padded armor underneath for gate impact events. They developed a special GS Armor Top and Pant with ultra shock absorbing and flexible d3o in strategic areas. This system gives less wind resistance while offering unsurpassed protection from the gates.
